The latest issue of "Wildlife Art" has several articles, related to woodcarving, that will be of interest to those on the WCI forum. There are two articles on Gary Eigenberger (instructor and bird carver). One is biographical and the second concerns his seven foot tall carving of a harpy eagle ("Ruler of the Canopy"). Other "woodcarving" articles concern Hap Hagood and his animal busts in wood and stone. There is also an article on Jim Griffith and his fish carvings. These are followed by "Coho Salmon", an article written by Terry J. Woodall who does a marvelous job of carving salmon emerging from driftwood. Finally, in this issue and not related to woodcarving is an article called "Leather Fish Catch". Lance Boen is working with leather and creating 3-dimensional fish pieces that look like woodcarvings! This issue is worth the $4.95 price tag. |
