Big fish! We have carp here too in Mn, and they are one ugly looking critter. The water just churns with them in the spring during mating.

I did see a unique thing a few years ago. Some lady makes roses from the carp scales. She will lightly spray them with paint and wrap them to florist wire. It was hard to believe they were carp scales. Pretty tho.

Hey Cliff,quit heckeling us with your paradice fishing hole,yes all kidding aside you have the best of both worlds,carving and fishing,even if you have invented a fish/sonar/bite system. Another great fun about carp,as long as one has a fishing license you can shoot them with an arrow fired from your bow. I used to do that then plant the fish in our rose garden, makes great fertilizer.

As fun as carp are to catch on a rod and reel, catch one on a fly rod. They are TOUGH to trick to bite on a fly. Theyre called the poor man's bonefish
