Not new, But Me thinks you know why we or the consumers haven't heard about it. Kind of like not hearing someof the things about our presidencial candidates either. But then, Just MY opinion.

I'd venture a guess why we haven't heard much about this......the energy cost to produce the reaction. If the energy output from the reaction is less than the energy input into the radio frequency generator, then the cost (in oil, coal or other fosissil fuels) is greater than the output. No one's gonna buy that!

There are also similar processes for producing "brown's gas" (HHO electrolytically produced from plain water) that is in production for use as an almost perfect welding fuel, but so far, though it can be adapted to run internal combustion engines and returns only H20 to the environment, producing it in usable quantities at a positive energy consumption rate is the problem.

I've never quite bought into the conspiracy theories directed at the energy companies supposedly buying up patents on these 100 mpg carbureators. There are only so many BTU's of energy in a gallon of gasoline that can be converted to mechanical energy, and past that point, ya just can't squeeze that buffalo any further.

If there's a practical application for this salt water experiment (and I'd bet, again, that it's another method of producing the HHO gas), the auto manufactures and energy companies would be chomping at the bit to get their hands on it.

Here's a link to one of MANY sites dedicated to the HHO oxy-hydrogen gas, it's uses and production. This one actually may pan out, eventually.

Browns Gas.Com, the independent website on Browns Gas - HHO - Water as Fuel

I'll bet if they ever did try and develop it those genius' in Congress would find a way to outlaw the taking of water from the ocean!

Our elected representatives would declare the ocean a protected wetland and bar any commercialization of it. We'd declare sharks, suckers and carp endangered species and make the ocean off-limits. I'm with Al on this one though. It's either an endothermic reaction or you have to dope the sea water with gold or other expensive metal to allow the radio waves to heat it up enough to break down the water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen.

In the early '80's, a researcher for Exxon got interested in electric motors and drives. He invented a miraculous motor that was going to revolutionize electric energy use. Exxon got so excited, they bought Reliance Electric, where I worked at the time, to commercialize the venture. When the Reliance Engineers got a look a the invention, they found it didn't work, and wouldn't work. That was kind of ugly for Exxon, but they didn't give it up easily. They kept beating that dead horse, trying to justify the purchase price for a big corporation, knowing they should have done a little due diligence before going off the deep end. The finally gave up, and a while later sold Reliance to Rockwell, to make good motors for tools for wood carvers. All's well that ends well; things that are too good to be true, are too good to be true.

Here is another innovation we have not heard much about but has potential and is being introduced into production in India. It is autos powered by compressed air, developed by the Motor Development International, and called the Air Car. Do a google search on MDI Air Car to see many sites. If the same technelogy could be applied to "hot air" there is a plentiful supply coming from the politicians and other "know-it-all's". By the way "politics" comes from the combination of two words, "poly" and "tics" Poly means "Many" and tics are "blood sucking parasites. Now put that in you gas tank and drive away.

Well, just to test this theory I went out this morning and filled my truck with salt water, struck a match an dropped it in the tank and then drove in to WalMart to pick up some supplies. The truck ran like a top....the only problem was I had to stop every so often and toss in another match!!
