Does anyone know how Susan Irish is? I haven't seen her post anything since before the holidays and I always enjoy her positive and professional input and incredibly detailed and easy to understand lessons. I understand if she's just too busy for chit chat, but is she ok? I'm concerned. Thor |

Hi Thor, Susan is fine just really busy with their Online business creating new patterns and carvings and I think she is working on a new book also. As I learned real quick WCI is fun and can be very addictive. Your right I miss her a lot--I have learned so much from her and other's on this site. I too hope that at some point her time will free up and she'll return to us. I check her www.carvingpatterns.com site often to see what's new. Oh and in the latest WCI magazine she has a 'Relief Column' it's a board with folk rooster, hen and eggs really cute. Kathy

Glad to hear she's okay, she has been a real inspiration and supporter to everyone here, a good friend to all. Tell her we miss her, and will keep a place for her here always. Bob

Thanks Kathy, It is a relief to know that she's ok and busy. I know about addictive forums. When I found this one, I got off of serveral others so I would have time for this one, because it is the most supportive and informative and friendly. Susan hsa been a big part of that, and I do hope she'll have time to stop in and say hi sometimes. I do look at her web site as well. She's awesome. Thanks again, Thor |

Ok ... our Fearless Leader, BobD, e-mailed me and said my ears should be burning because ya'll were talkin' 'bout me! I am laying the blame for my absence directly on BobD's broad shoulders. He has been working extremely hard to put together a new Premium Pattern Book for you. The list of contributors is fantastic and the range of new ideas they have packed ... see the patterns popping out of this one like an over stuffed suitcase ... is really great. I think it's the best that has come along in quite awhile. (BobD should be blushing right about now and he deserves to for the work he has put into it.) The Premium book was just sent off to the printers .... sigh! And, blaming BobD and Fox Chapel again, there is a manuscript on my drawing table that is about 4 to 6 weeks away from sending in the manuscript ... and one manuscript that is on Gretchen's desk (she's the one that puts all the drawings, carvings and text together to make it into something readable.) That manuscript is about a month away from proofing. So, I miss you guys but simply can't come up for air. I do stop by an read in the mornings whenever I get a chance ... I'm keepin' my eye on you!
