Default West Virginia ThanksGiving

Ash, Sue,
I'm Sure you can add to this!!!

You might have had Thanksgiving in West ( By Gawd ) Virginia if'n
You've ever had Thanksgiving dinner on a Ping-Pong table.
Thanksgiving dinner is squirrel and dumplings.
You've ever re-used a paper plate.
If you have a complete set of salad bowls and they all say
Whip on the side.
If you've ever used your ironing board as a buffet table.
On Thanksgiving Day you have to decide which pet to eat.
Your turkey platter is an old hub cap.
Your best dishes have Dixie printed on them.
Your stuffings secret ingredient comes from the bait shop.
Your only condiment on the dining room table is ketchup.
Side dishes include beef jerky and Moon Pies.
You have to go outside to get something out of the 'fridge.
The directions to your house include "turn off the paved road".
You consider pork and beans to be a gourmet food.
You have an Elvis Jell-o mold.
Your secret family recipe is illegal. You serve Vienna Sausage as an appetizer.
ThanksGiving Ya'al
Harold & Anna

Ah!, Good Sir ... Ya missed one!

You Mail Ordered Texas Oysters 'cause yer having the Preacher over for dinner.

Of course that's the same time that you decide to show off that your oldest has a third grade edijucation by asking him to read the ingredients off the side of the jar.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Susan

(My Mom is leaning over my shoulder roaring with laughter saying she has actually done a couple of those ... AH! And Mike is saying that the Rocky Mountian Oysters are way better then those common Texas ones.)

Well now ...I uns are a tille confused

You must be part of them thiar hatenfields .
Causin I tain't ever heard of no ping pong ... must be one of them china men imports do dads I heard tell about . Ritzie bastards ...

And squrill gravy and dumplins is breakfast food.

And all our plates are marked .. maple , oak and wlanut so we un's don't have to wash them when were done , we just take them out to the creek rinse them out and take them to the roadside stand for the tourist .

Momma's Ironing board is the door latch , I guess we could use it for a buffet ... ifin I knew what a buffet was.

And everyone round here knows you don't chose you pets to eat .. we put all our neighbors names in a hat so we knows which of thier pets to steal .

We don't use no hubcaps ....sold them to some stranger .

Whats a condiment ? Better yet whats a dinning room ... I though a dinning room was outside.

We never have moon pies and beef jerrky for side dishes .. it's deer jerky and the moon pies are desert.

we keep the fridge in the dinning room for conveinence

Tain't no onw in West Virginia gives directions like that ..every one knows directions are At ike's store you turn left and go to biily bob's where you turn right and drive to the elder elm. Park you car there and follow the left path up to the old pin oak where you turn rigt the mosy up the left side of the far bank of the east clif to the old walnut , make sure it is the old walnut , the young walnut will get you on the south side of north ridge and once you reach pappy's roberts you turn west on to tater ridge and were the second cabin .

Now damit that Jello mold is Aunta Maybells .. when she went to the big city of morefield back in 62 ......

It's only illegal ifin you get caught !

Jeeze city slickers ...

I think Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks for our blessings. I guess we can all thank the Lord for giving us Almost Heaven, West (by Gawd) Virginia so the flatlanders would have a place to vacation and relax and enjoy nature at it's best.
