Anybody know of a farm for sale? As soon as we can sell here in Florida, we're moving inland. Hopefully we'll find a small farm to buy. I'd like it to be somewhere with a good to excellent growing season. A good barn or warehouse on the property would be great too, my future carving area! I know this is completely off topic, but I am ready to relocate! I love Florida...been here 10-11 years...but I think I'll vacation here and live away from hurricanes! Wade |

Ash, I've seriously thought about WV. My wife and I were married there. It's a beautiful state! I found one farm the other day in WV that had mineral rights on a gas well. The house and the barn were heated FREE with natural gas from their well! That'd be hard to beat! Maybe build a nice greenhouse and heat it too! Wade |

If you can stand the snow the U.P of Michigan is a good retirement area with alot of old farms being sold with land.

Wade, The free gas in WV is not as special as you might think. My information is that the gas is methane which often smells like the outhouse on a hot summer day and the flow of gas is not reliable or under pressure. You might want to talk to Teri Embrey about WV, that is where she is from. Personally, I would look for property in eastern Tennesse or western North Carolina. |

Rick, I've looked in Tenn and NC a bunch on the net, lots of good deals in TN, some in NC too. Whew! That free gas might be a curse! Gotta sell before I can do anything, but I'm chompin' at the bit! MrYooper, I may not be hearty enough for the U.P.! I have friends from there that feel it's the best place on planet Earth though! Wade Last edited by wade clark; 09-07-2005 at 08:13 PM. |

Stay away from the UP, I grew up there, nothing but cold, snow, and mosquitos. But I still do miss it! If you're interested in Missouri, there are alot of good deals here. We've got 4 seasons: a week or two of Spring, alot of Summer, a few weeks of Fall, and about 3 months of Winter (you'll see days in the 70s during the Winter!). I'm looking to buy some land myself to get away and hunt on. Here's a few links if you want to look around: http://www.morealestate.net/ http://www.unitedcountry.com/ucforms...p?SID=17102917
