| | The ulitimate compliment Hi gang,
'I was commissioned a few years back to do a carving for a customer in their back yard. The carving was of a hundred and fifty year old sugar maple that had been damaged by a storm and had to come down. The tree was planted when someone lived in the little house to the left of the tree. This house is now the studio although the original residence of what is now an estate. The owners then commissioned a well known artist to do a water color of the carving along side the house. To me this was the best compliment that anyone could have paid me. In appreciation the owners purchased a print for me to hang in my home. I have attatched a picture of the carving and of the painting.

| | Re: The ulitimate compliment That wasn't a compliment Colin, they had the painting done to show "Look what somebody went and done to my stump!" LOL just kidding, they must like it a lot! but would rather go out and look at the stump instead of the picture ha ha.. |

| | Re: The ulitimate compliment Colin, the painting looks like an illustration in a book. All it needs is a really cool story to go with it.
Wonderful compliment. I'm sure you're thrilled to get a copy for yourself.

| | Re: The ulitimate compliment Imitation is said to be the sincerest form of a compliment.
The painting looks like it would a good start to a spooky story, and halloween is just around the corner... |

| | Re: The ulitimate compliment I think some where down the road, long after we are gone, that painting will show up on something like "Antique Road Show".
The expert will take that little pointer jobby and tap the image of your carving, as he expounds " What makes this painting special, is the spirit face here; which is a representation of the famous Canadian, Tree [part time pumpkin] Carver, Colin P............
