| | A Typing Aid for people with Arthritis My wife has Arthritis in her fingers & has a difficulty while typing. She types with one finger, but it gets painful for her. So I made her a typing aid from a Birch branch. The images are self explanatory. Regards, Dick Cain

Just thinking here.. if you dip that end into that rubber stuff you dip tools in..would it make that end more non-slip?

| | Re: A Typing Aid for people with Arthritis Have you considered getting voice activated software? There is a program out now that does the typing for you, all you have to do is speak.

| | Re: A Typing Aid for people with Arthritis Just a word of caution about voice software. It can be very difficult to use if you are not careful. Some software you have to train it to your voice and is very sensitive to mistakes in proper english. The best to have is the more expensive naturally and also the type that you have to train to your voice. I know on my IBM software it is so touchy I have to read everything over before I post it. It may take a phrase like Have a nice day and turn it into Have a slice hay. Which can be fun to read back sometimes. But do plenty of research before you buy I found that most programs are like a pair of glasses they are custom fit. In other words everyone is different and has different needs. Ron |

| | Re: A Typing Aid for people with Arthritis Thanks Marci for the tip about the tip. I was going to do that, but my wife likes it like it is. The wooden tip doesn't slip. She can type much faster now than before I made the aid. And thank you Ron & Bob for the advice on voice activated typing. I think we'll stick with the "stick" for now. Regards, Dick
