Well all seems my luck is still running a bit more than poor. I may never carve again I was out taking care of my horses and they were a bit radical today, change in weather , winter comming , ect ect .. well to make a long story short, I got kicked, while my hand was against the wall. My right hand now has 5 broken bones and they are not sure if I will have to have surgery , anyway carving is not an option at this point and may never be again. I knew seeing a black cat on holloween was not a good thing. Before anyone goes ahead and gets upset this was a prank nothing more. Last edited by Ashbys; 11-01-2006 at 01:30 PM. |

What a terrible thing to happen. I sure hope it's not as bad as you state and that things work out okay in the healing process. I know just how you feel as I got thrown from my horse and shattered my wrist in five places a couple of years ago. I too thought that that was the end of my carving career. Fortunately, even though my hand now sets at the end of my arm at a funny angle, my carving has gotten better! At least I think so. Hang in there! Never say never! Heal fast and keep us posted on your progress.

Garry!!!! Dont' borrow sorrow. Until your hand heals you don't know what the future holds. And until your hand heals you don't know how much inner strenght you have to over come the limits that might occur. And, please, the worst place for you right now, especially with your growth in this craft, is alone in your own head with a case of the "what if's"! 99.9% of the what if's my head tells me during any given situation never come true. Thinking of you, Susan and Mike Irish |

OK, I say we all go over the Ashby's and TP his house...someone bring some eggs, soap, cherry bombs, doggie do in a flaming bag...the works. I was so falling for it, except for the part about never carving again. No one that good gives up that easy.... Thor |
