Default Tulsa Carving Show

Nice show and a lot of carvers there that I had met the previous year. news that Danny Reb was in the Tulsa hospital due to stomach problems. His wife who was running the both said he was better but have not found out what was the problem.
Met up with Carver^ and his lovely wife and introduced the spouses to each other. They took off one way and Garon and I took off another. Viewed Lynn Doughty's booth and I can tell you, Pictures does not do his carvings justice. He had the ones he had on his Blog there and man, they were some beautiful carvings. The MMan over board was a fantastic carving and talked with Lynn's wife as he was out. Met up with Lynn and we talked shop for a while then he had to go back to his booth.
The show had more booths but less venders. One I was looking for did not show up and a new wood supplier The Wilcox's from WI were there, new this year and had a lot of the Northern basswood and more quality butternutthan I have seen in one place. I loaded up on basswood and butternut. Moore's Designs the old Rossitters was there. I was surprised as the last time talking to them, they weren't sure they would be there. Didn't get anything there this year Though.
All in ALL, was a nice time visiteing with Garon and Lynn. Seen Wolf there but by the time I got back over there, both had left so when we left, we did not meet them. Next time I hope.
Did see one from the Bishop class of last Oct and talked to him and met a couple who will be at the Oct 2007 bishop class in Elk City.
Well, That is about all there was.
I'll shut up now

Default Re: Tulsa Carving Show

I forgot to add a big "" to Lynn for his suggestions and to Garon and his wife for coming down and hanging out. I had a nice time.
