Default Trygg collectors..

I dont know much about Trygg but I've heard this name mentioned quite a few times in here. I just came across this auction in Ebay and thought you'd like to take a look and make your own opinion and maybe add to your collection?

Here ya go...

Marci,
Thanks but it isn't a Trygg.

Most likely Italian.

Really? *snaps fingers* And I thought I was doing a good thing. LOL Ok.. if you dont mind me asking, what were the clues to know the difference?

I'm still learning about carvers and their styles and to me the eyes did it.. I was waaay off base wasnt I?

This'll teach me. *sigh*

It was carved in the style of Trygg, but wasn't carved by any of the Trygg family.

You are doing the right thing in trying to learn, and although you were not correct about the artist, you were not "waaay off base"......just a bit off base. To continue using your analogy, you were thrown out by Rick!

HEheheheheehehehe Marci, I have a knock off of aTrygg, carved by 14 well excludung me 13 great carvers from this board. Project II was a carving off of a Trygg original and to me, worth just as much because of the different carvers whoo participated in the project.

Marci,
You can't know everything. The seller marketed it as though it was a Trygg, implied they thought it probably was. There's other mis-information in that listing too.
The good news is you know a lot more about it now than you did, and learning something new is invaluable!
