Nope. Not a carver - almost though! When I was in grade seven my teacher was Larry Lunman who offered to teach us how to carve a decoy. I did not think I could get the necessary tools so I only had the one lesson. Larry co-wrote a well known book on the 'Decoys of the Thousand Islands'. John Leeder was in my grade 7 class, kept up with the lessons and ..... He continues to win numerous first place honours and several 'Best of Show' and 'People's Choice' awards at carving competitions throughout North America. John's wildlife sculptures are displayed in several art galleries throughout Canada and the US. John is a current 'World Level' Competitor and has 15 'Best of Show' awards under his belt.
