Default Trip To Tennessee

Well .. My trip to Johnson City Tenn. is over now and so many highlight's I had ...

1. My wonderful visit with my friends to one of the most beautiful parts of that state ... and meeting great people who are so friendly ..

2. My time with two wonderful forum member's .. Blake and Forrest .. What a great bunch of guy's to talk to ... Thanks guy's for the time taken to talk and share about carving ..

3. A beautiful little cabin we stayed in on little Pigeon river right outside of Gatlinburg .... What peace ... You can't help but want to sit on the porch and carve there ... It was beautiful ... Watching my grandson playing in the stream was a joy to be with him ..

4. A visit one night to Pigeon Forge in seeing a wonderful new play called " The Miracle" about the life of Christ ... Even though I was skeptical at first rather it would be worth the $30.00 ticket price ... I was more then stunned at the professionalism of the production and the power of it's special effects and acting and singing ... It was fantastic ... And I dont usually say that about most productions ... A wonderful experience to see ...

5. A visit to the Smokey Mountain Woodcarvers shop and spending time with them .. what a great buch of people and a wonderful carving place ... They really make you feel at home there ...

6. A visit to the Woodcraft shop there in Johnson City ...

7.Just a chance to relax and carve for the fun of it ... Sitting up in those woods and mountains are a inspiration to relax and carve anytime ...

This is what I was able to accomplish the 2 weeks I was gone .. some I have started painting and others in the raw .. One day I will finish them ..

Thanks to the state of Tenn.and it's people for a great visit ...

Gene

Thank you for bringing back some great memories.
Your flat plane minis are neat. Reminds me of some of those back hills mountian people in Tn.

I like going to Tenn when I go see my brother in Kentucky. You should have emailed Wade Clark on the forum he lives in southern Tenn south of Nashville. He has the perfect front porch for carving I hear.

Not only is Tenn. a great place to visit, it is a great place to live. We moved here 6 years ago, after living in several other places, and we love it.

I love that area (KY, TN, VA). I was born in the southeastern part of kentucky, and still have family there. When I visit, we usually go to Morristown, TN to see a cousin, and most of the time, we head to Sevierville, and stop by Smokey Mountain Knifeworks. One of these days I'll get to Smokey Mountain Woodcarvers.

Gene... You didn't happen to ask Mac at Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers if he'd thought about spending some time on the forum did you? When I was at the store in May I hinted to Beth that he'd be a great addition to the carving expertise.

The next Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers craft show at Nawger Nob is the weekend of September 29-30! I hope to be back up at my cabin on the 22nd so the wife and I are deffinitely planning on being there and of course, spending some quality time at the store!
