| | Re: Is there nickel in tool steel? Great link Rick. I am following this thread closely as I know Vicki chokes up on her tools and has even gotten me and maybe others to start choking up on their blades.
Thanks you all for great suggestions and do pray Vicki heals quickly and gets back to carving. . |

would that be " heat shrink" you place it on, then put a match ( lite ) next to it and it shrinks tight to the part..... snug ?????

| | Re: Is there nickel in tool steel? Thanks Kenny,
I went to the dermatoligist on thursday and got some very high powered ointment and it is helping. I may be back to carving next week if we can figure out a barrier for me. We are going to try everything cause I am not going to stop carving. |

| | Re: Is there nickel in tool steel? Thanks Rick! Thats another one! This tommy tape I think will stick to the shank, not sure about heat shrink whether it will stay in place or not, haven't used it,but then, I haven't used either .....Jim...I believe you use a heat gun or hair dryer to shrink the heat shrink. I think either might work Vickie. |

| | Re: Is there nickel in tool steel? Vicki, Watch that metal dust when you are sharpening your tools. It could cause more damage than handeling the tools.
