Talking Thaknsgiving Pic

Hey everyone!! I hope ya'll had a wonderful thanksgiving! My family and I spent 10 days at my studio by Yosemite and I took this picture of our dog "cocoa" meeting her first deer in the driveway and thinking that this is the biggest damn dog she's ever seen...... with horns!!!

Neat photos! It's amazing that the deer didn't hightail it away!

Love the pictures. It must have been fun to watch the reactions of both.

Jeff those are wonderful pictures. Could you give us a little on the reaction of the deer and also the dog. Obviously the deer there are pretty tame any deer here would run a mile from a dog or a camera. The little spike horn is that what is called a Black Tail and if so is the deer full grown. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us they are fabulous. Great thanksgiving pictures and fond memories for sure. One day I would love to take a one of your courses but you are so far away.

Talking Re: Thaknsgiving Pic

Colin, Our dog cocoa had never seen a deer before let alone meet one so close. She's just like a cat when it comes to getting in trouble the only problem is she does'nt have nine lives. The deer is called a black tail deer it is a sub-species of the mule deer a lot smaller with the same horn structure and size and are native to the west coast. This deer is alittle over a year old just out of his spots and this past summer he would almost walk up to us. Anyway, once cocoa got position on the deer he took off at a run with cocoa right behind and I had to go after cocoa. Later that day cocoa was nose to nose with one of the horses across road. So I guess you could say she had a real ezciting day.
