| | Re: Texas Ranch House-Tonight on PBS My nightly rant.....
I dont know how they would have survived out in the wilterness without firearms, but tonights episode of the kidnapping just about had me ready to toss my boot at lynns widescreen... and that would have been a world record boot toss from louisiana to ok....
there really not in bad shape, if they got out of the idea of these professional wemon on these shows and got to reality.
and that cowboy boss is getting kinda whynney for me,
hey duke it out and get it over.
make the chick the new cook and horse watcher.
take off the apron from the cowboy, and for god sake why didnt they trade off the wife to the indains, they might have gotten that great indain drawing for her. and the will certinly bring her back shortly, after her first b*t*h session on how she wasent being respected by the indains....
they got new goat kids but the girls named them as pets, i was told never name your supper hope they know that. |

| | Re: Texas Ranch House-Tonight on PBS Hey!!! Don't throw that boot at my screen! Television is my LIFE! I use Nerf Balls. They just bounce off. Of course then the dog barks and my wife yells at me cause she can't hear the TV! Life is tough out here in the Real West! |

| | Re: Texas Ranch House-Tonight on PBS I just caught the tail-end of the last episode before the trail drive. I would have though that trail boss would have hit the trail for another outfit or shot that whiney gal who just wanted to ride with the guys. At the risk of sounding sexist, I can't even imagine a good looking young lady tagging along with 30 dusty, lusty range hands on a 4 to 6 week trail drive, without major strife developing among the wranglers.
I don't live in "cow country", but grew up in Upper Michigan during the last days of the old logging camps, and they were run iron-handed by the "BULL-0'-THE-WOODS", and he wouldn't have put up with any of that touchy feely discussion of policy in the woods, and he wasn't given that moniker because of the line of bull he had.

Wish I had caught more of the series, though, I got a pretty skewed impression from that 20 minute exposure. |

| | Re: Texas Ranch House-Tonight on PBS Ya can take the city slickers ouy of the city but ya cain't take the city out of the city slickers. The boss and tv star is a whimmp. The boss's wife is the boss, as she see it. She is taking 21 century ideas in to 1800s way of life. Tend the house and cook is all she needs to know, if she wants respect, keep her mouth shut. That ain't the way it was in the 1800. Mostly, not many women on a ranch.
As for the girl wanting to ride with the cowboys, well, more power to her, She probably is a better hand than the rest of the whinny butt ones on that show.
The Boss should include Rob in his trail decission and leave the wife out. Or make the wife ride along with them and Help out. Heck fire, even one of the girls wanted to go.
yep, Lynn said it best in it is not realistic at all.
I wonder what would happen if they all walked out and left the boss and her husband to ride herd ove rthe cattle themselves.
As for the indians, they should have scalped them when they stoled the horses. Hmm, 24 head to get back his own hourses and didn't realize that he only got 4 horses back. What a DA.
But then to, how would we all faired. Definitely put together by people who did not do enough research of that time. The Idians had guns but no pistols or rifles with the boss or ranch Hand.
Last night was the last I will view. I would rather pick my nose and watch my head collapse. |

| | Re: Texas Ranch House-Tonight on PBS I find myself agreeing with all of you and enjoying the humor. I must say I've been really disappointed in the show, but I keep watching thinking it's going to get better. Not sure that is going to happen.

| | Re: Texas Ranch House-Tonight on PBS Being a 5th generation Texan, I decided not to watch. What I have read here confirms my thoughts.
Sounds like next week they will have some cowboy shooting 32 times with out reloading with a six shooter.
To bad they didn't do a little research. there are tons of books on Texana and life in Gods Country.
One thing that still remains, is the who is in charge of what issue. At our house if it is on the slab it's her responsibility if off the slab, it's mine. Off the slab includes the garage.
Oh yea, most of the houses in Texas are built on concrete slabs or on blocks.
Can't remember ever seeing a basement.
Dan

| | Re: Texas Ranch House-Tonight on PBS lastnight when the wife confronted the ranch owner in the garden about making a decision without her, i was expecting the rancher to turn the air blue with obcenitys, it would have been the right place for him to grab his butt in one hand and tell her to keep her nose in the house, but i was very disapointed to hear him cower and say yes dear,
It wouldnt have happened that way at my house.!!! sure she could have had her 2 cents worth, but lets face it when she got to chastizing him that would have cut it .....
i wonder if the wives dresstail blowed up in the wind i think we would see mens boxer underware and him wearing ribbons on his???...
