| | Teach an Old Dog! Well everyone I had a doctor's visit today and it is kind of what I expected not the best news. I had to go in for a revaluation on my vision for rehab purposes. To be able to get upgraded software they have to understand what is going on with it. So I spent the day doing all kinds of test. In a nut shell my vision sucks and my little window is all but closed. In other words my little light at the end of the tunnel is going out. But life goes on and I decided to enroll back in school part time. The courses will be at the rehab center and will be for computer programing. I also signed up to be a product testor for items to be used by the vision impaired. And if that isn't enough they put me on the staff of volunteers to educate school children about the blind and vision impaired. The reason for this is that the board members have seen some of my carvings and want me to show one of the things that people like me are able to do. Hope I still have time to carve. They also have signed me up for beep softball team. We will see about that one. I don't start my classes until the 1st of Feb.

| | Re: Teach an Old Dog! Well My friend bad news and good news. Sorry about the light going out but, me thinks with your attitude, you will do well. Simplely put, you are an amazing person. Good that they want you to do all those things. Only can help others and again, I think you are the Man to do so.

| | Re: Teach an Old Dog! Well, Ron, we all hope you can go on carving. In any case, you have made a lot of friends and caused a lot of inspiration. You've raised the bar a lot for the rest of us.
It sounds like you're in for interesting times ahead and helping a lot of Folks, young and old, not to mention getting the opportunity to keep on learning, broadening your horizons. "There's none so blind as he who will not see." You, my Friend, see very well, even though you live with this lack of light thing. We're all proud to call you our Friend.

| | Re: Teach an Old Dog! Congrats on the new opportunities. I do hope you don't over-commit yourself to the point of not having time to carve. Talent like yours deserves the time it takes to finish projects.
Good luck with your new ventures. I am glad that others will be exposed to your determination and good spirit.
