Default T'is The Season

T'is the Season for gift giving and after eight great months here on the WCI Message Board I realize how one sided this forum is. Fox Chapel gives us their time, their energies and their bandwidth to chat and discuss carving. They have even graciously offered up our wonderful, fearless leader BobD as our guide to keep us on the true and narrow path. Who ever Admin is ... he/she also works hard for us each and every day so we can enjoy the friendships created here.

So I am asking everyone on the Message to board to offer a very small and easy gift back to Fox Chapel ... nope, not a carving ... a LINK! Not only does this give a little back but it is also a gift to us as it will encourage new members to join in the fun!

If you have a website or online photo album, do you have a link back to the Message Board? If you are a member of other wood carving forums and newsletters have you posted that the WCI Message Board is here and active? If you are part of a carving club have you written a small invitation in your newsletter about WCI?

If you already do have a link to the WCI Message Board let us know!

Thank you WCI, Susan

(Oh, BobD, if you want to know what I want for Christmas it's a nice web banner that says something like "I'm a proud member of WCIMB!")

Aw, shucks...
Keep your eyes open Susan--I've asked Rob to make a banner for you. When it's done, I'll attach it to this thread.

That's a clever idea Susan! I'll have to do that next time I'm playing with my website.

Susan,
You're so awesome.
I'll do the same when the tag is ready.
I have already been giving this board as a reference to anyone who stops by and takes out a handout when I demonstrate. I refer to it as the ultimate resource for positive feedback, help, and sharing knowledge.

Oh Susan, this is too funny. I have been working on an article for WCI, when it came to the end, the part where I submit a bit of information about myself, I was so tempted to write, after the 'self-taught' part, that everything I have learned (which I've said here many times), is from the generous people on this message board. They have been my teachers, mentors, inspiration and strongest supporters. I didn't do it because I was afraid it would sound like I was kissing up! Ha! Ha!

What I have already gained from this message board is almost too precious for words, a lifetime of knowledge that I couldn't have acquired anywhere else and friendships beyond compare! Thank you, Susan, for mentioning again what a great service WCI does for all of us! Deborah

Wow, I have only been on this board for a month but I totally agree. Susan, you said it well. This is a great group of people with generous spirits. Thanks for the idea about recognizing our sponsor. If an when I get a web site I will do exactly that.
