SusieQ, my thoughts and prayers go out to you in your time of loss. Hope your Dad heals soon. It must be a very trying time for you.
Charlotte, hope your surgery does well and I'll keep you in my prayers too.

Thank you Sharon, Dusty, Hi Ho, Wild Hare, Slather,
It is hard. It was much harder to watch her struggle with her day to day life and not let me help.... I could have made life so much easier for her and she wouldn't let me. I know she isn't struggling anymore........
My main focus is dad now. After the carving show closed up for the day today, I went to the assisted living facility and sat with him while he ate supper. He is good natured, smiles all the time, has no idea who I am or where he is but he is well cared for and loves to have company. His room is right next to my mother in law's room....not that he remembers her anymore but she likes to visit him and he enjoys it. Things could be a lot worse....they were for a while.
Thanks again.

Susieq, You have my condolances. After my daughters wedding and reception last August, Mom took a turn for the worse. It was almost like a roller coaster ride with the happiest of times followed by the saddest of times. We lost my Mom last November after a series of hospital visits, rest home visits, home with my sister, and finally Hospice care. She lived to be 94 but the last 6 months were especially tough. I think, for me, the saddest part is when your Mom no longer really knows just who you are. You have my heartfelt sorrow and just hope your Dad will improve a bit.

Thank you Jim. It sounds like you had a real time of it too. It's never easy, is it....

Thank you Oscar. Her life was miserable the last 2 years. I know she is in a better place.
