| | Re: Susan an update Susan,
You know me better than that , it will be right or I won't send it .
We just finished haveing a small meeting about it , and we decided to modify three sections that we felt could be improved without a major issue.
Add we will be adding some new woods in inventory today so I willl have to see what I come up with .
Mark,
There is a lot of pattern work, and to give you an idea, this is the 7th test piece to do nothing but check the pattern. Because as we all know it is the attention to the small details which makes the difference in a carving.
Every curve every depth line , has to be layered together and measured so the pattern is developed the same as you would do a carving.
The pattern for this piece is a 1.7 g bitmap in a 8 x 10 pic, has 10 working layers and over 10000 lines.
Bob.
Were just getting started, some of the things in process are simply unbeliveable. Imaganation run wild!

| | Re: Susan an update Garry! I didn't say it so it's not been discussed yet ... but I assume you realize that I want it SIGNED, NUMBERED and DATED and maybe some little written statement on your letter head! That way when my great-great-great grandson takes it on the Antiques Road Show he will have Promonounce to make it worth over a kazillon instead of just a kathousand.
Ron can have #2 ...

this has been quite a day, one thing then another , I really am about to give up ........
JUST KIDDING !
The new wood arrived and we had to plane it to shape. It took a while because there was this really excellent pice I wanted to use , and since I had never used it before , it was a real joy.
Anyway , I wanted to show you the piece , since I had one spot that was a bit hard and chard slightly , if you don't like it , I will redo it.
Anyway here is the finish piece , in 11 inches x 16 inches , In this wonderful hickory .
Let me know

| | Re: Susan an update I feel like a bit of a voyeur, looking through the window during this amazing process. Way to go Garry and Susan. What a great way to put Susan's great designs in wood. Susan, I'm working on one of your wreaths and should finish it this week (given some time to carve). Some of your patterns just beg to be carved. Thanks to both of you.
