Well, I sort of fixed our problem with the internet, I think! Replace thee way connector on the outside of the house with a better quality one than Cox techies did a couple of weeks ahgo and replaced the cable coming into the house. They had RG59 cable and I placed it with 6. Havn't watched any telly so don't know if that fixed that problem. same connetor and replaced the cable coming into the house on that also. Time will tell.

Hmmmmm, wonder what the Cox techies will say or have to say Monday?

Thank you, Garry!

Major withdrawal doesn't even come close! It's more like curled up in the corner in the fetal position .... AHHH!

It's 6 AM Sunday morning and one of the few 'dead' times for our business so I am grabbing my chance to come visit the message board ... before something pulls me away.

If the computer gremlin's are done their mischief hopefully we will have our main computer back tomorrow. In the mean time we have been limping along on my new toshiba notebook.

Now this notebook is a dynamite little machine and Mike had it up, running and in acess to all our data in less than an hour. But every other time we have swapped out for a new computer the old computer was still operating.

I had forgotten how long it takes to clean up a computer from all the 'freebies' they come with, put in all of the programs that we simply must have, tweak everything then tweak some more.

The first week of August was spent installing programs and this second week has been updating programs ... all on dail up ... AHHHH!

Anyway, IF we get the main computer back tomorrow and IF the motherboard is operational and IF we don't have to do a full reinstall of windows (which would mean we lose all of our programs - again!) then the business will be back up and running smoothly and I will have my own little notebook to come and haunt this wonderful board whenever I want!

I very much have missed the friendships, sharing, chat and even the occassional banterings of this message board and all of you that join in here. When the bolt of lightening fried our motherboard it also disconnected me from my cherished friends here on the WCI message board ...

Susan

Welcome home Susan. Good to see you posting again. Computer woes can be a nightmare.
