I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who jabs himself a good one from time to time. I almost sliced my femoral artery once swatting at a fly. Needless to say, my wife was not impressed.

Geeze you guys keep talking about all these nasty owies and I'm gonna keep my carving tools in the box. *shivers*

When our driveway was blown in.. I didnt go near those tools just in case I did cut myself. I would bleed to death.. yikes.

You can't let it worry you. An Elder/friend/brother of mine told me once that if you start worrying about getting cut, the knife will turn on you, and it will be ten times worse.

I was showing a tourist once how I rough out grease spoons using and elbow adze. The block firmly held by my feet, stooped over from a seat, holding the other end of the wood with fingertips and whacking away with the adze. The edge was hitting fairly close to my feet or fingers - less than an inch at times - and I never thought anything of it; that's just the way you do it.

I look up and this woman is white as a sheet with a knuckle stuffed between her teeth. I dunno why...

I have cut myself with my carving tools but it's the ginsu type kitchen knives I have to beware of. My last trip to the ER was for a paring knife stab wound. I took the knife with me to show the ER physician. He compared it with the wound and told me to be careful. No stitches that time. Live and (maybe) learn.

Been there, done it, and I have the T shirt. I also have sutures in my carving box. Mine you I had an accident with a chainsaw right across my thigh about 6 inches long.No way to suture that just put a large elastoplast over it and carried on carving.

I would show off my pet little bride but she is kind of shy when it comes to having her picture taken. She has broke the last 4 cameras.
