Default Spiders in the workshop

I am not, to say the least , fond of spiders in the workshop although in England none of them will hurt you. So I bought an electronic pest scarer to keep them outside. It didn't work; the spiders are as numerous as ever and this huge one lives right ON the spider scarer. Any tips???

Sauteed in butter with mushrooms and scallions? Perhaps a nice Napa Zinfandel for a spicy, fruity accompaniment? How old is that guy? He looks like an '06; not a very good vintage for spiders. Mike

Reminds me of an old song by Jim Stafford, "Spiders and Snakes"!

I have them around my ban saw. Black Widows.. lot's of them... I just keep trying to get rid of the egg sacks.. I even found them on the back of the lid of my garbage can, that is to go to the street.. Just got a stick and got rid of the sacks.. Check under chairs often! Charlotte

Eleanor,
That is a nice looking spider you have there.

They come a little bigger here in the western USA.
I actually killed one with a rifle at twenty yards the other day. (no joke)
I was thinking of having it stuffed and mounted.

In the days before insecticides they had natural remedies for spiders. Cut two pieces of wood 1x1 4 inches long, Label the blocks, Block "A" and Block "B", catch the spider, put him on Block A, and Smack it with Block B. Guaranteed to work.
