Unhappy so bummed out,man!

Nor Cal has been having some severe winter these past couple weeks and my poor shop was no exception. After I raked out the sawdust...wet sawdust sux...I had to put down some good tools. Can't you just hear Taps playing? We had some power surges and I did not know my sander was still plugged in. real bummer deal. Its the one in my signature, my favorite tool. My most used and my most loved. Saying I used it everyday is not an overstatement. It was the first new tool I had for my shop and my sweet husband had bought it for me as a "Wednesday Gift" . I am very sad, needless to say. I talked to the awesome folks at Grizzly and they still have my model, but I am still bummed out! What a crappy deal. Had a huge burn pil and got rid of the wet wood. Back to collecting. I guess thats just how it goes. Hope everyone is fairing well and is warm and dry!

Sorry to hear about your rough winter weather and the loss of your sander. Sounds like the motor may have gotten fried. If so it should be replaceable. Motors are usually cheaper than a complete new tool. Most appliance repair parts centers would have a replacement motor if that is the problem. Remove the motor and take it to them. They can check it and then look to see if they have a replacement. If the motor is good it could be just the switch. They should have that as well. Just mark the wires so you get it back together correctly.

Good luck,

Keoma, Sorry to hear your bad news. Where in N. Cal are you located? I know at my studio in Oakhurst they got a couple feet of snow and I had a couple wires down. I know there will be alot of clean up when I get back up there in a couple weeks. Don't worry things will get better, hang in there!!

Hey Falconer...looked like George Straight at first glance... I am in Laytonville. We live a 1/4 mile off the highway and have lots of line damage due to traffic accidents. I am so glad the sun is out today. I try to find the good in every situation...was hard finding this one...But I did!
I am getting my shop cleaned! No more mess for me...I am done with it! Been a liong time since I had that cozy cleaned out workable shop feeling...can't remember the last time I saw my work bench...so this is good! Thanx again for all the cheer! Much Love!

Hey, Keoma.

Recent studies have shown that woodworkers who make or repair things in their shops and actually use their tools have more clutter than those who do not. Now that your shop is clean, we're all going to be suspicious whether you actually work in there. Mess it up again soon, girl!
