Default Sincere Thanks to WCI

You may have noticed that I haven't been on for the past week, I'm sorry about that, and I missed you all, but my other family needed me. My Mom had been battling cancer since September and finally lost the struggle, peacefully, on Wednesday past, surrounded by her loving family.

WCI was kind enough to insure that I recieved a copy of the cover of the new issue (#34) well in advance so she could see it. As it featured her baby boy, and the photography magic of her granddaughter Samantha, my baby girl, it brought her great joy in a time where smiles was scarce. For that kindness I shall be eternally greatfull to our friends Bob Duncan, Jon Deck, and Shannon Flowers. Bob, she lit up when she saw it, and the whole family was very excited as well......I'm sure the issue will be a sell out in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and parts of Ontario. It's a "big" extended family.

Thank you Bob, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you and Jon and Shannon.

Bob

Bob,

Cancer probably takes a greater toll ,on those left behind, than does any other way of dying. Not much can be said to lighten your burden. Just know that you have many friends on this board and when someone hurts all of their friends hurt with them.

I am sure that I will be only one of many offering condolences in the loss of your Mother. The efforts made by WCI on behalf of your family shows the value of this Board.

My friend, try and lose yourself in the things you enjoy doing. It's theraputic.

Bob, Sorry to hear about your loss.

Cancer is for a lack of a better term, a policitly correct illness, it doesn't care whether or not that you are young, old, black, white, rich, poor. When it strikes all are devestated.

Clayton and I will say our prayers tonight with you and your family in mind. May you find peace.

BB

Bob, my friend, you are in all of our thoughts!

One of the best parts of my job is working with carvers (and scrollers). There is something special about these people who shape wood...when people ask, I can't explain it to them, but if I carve something for them, teach them to carve, or introduce them to a carver, they understand.

I love to meet carvers and help them to realize how great the work they do is...and make sure they get the recognition they deserve! Bob, it was my pleasure to make sure you and Sam get the recognition you deserve! You both do AWSOME work, I'm just glad that I was able to show the world that!

I'm also glad that your mother got to see the cover and the article. It was our pleasure to make it happen.

Bob, it was a pleasure working with you, and a pleasure meeting you and talking with you on this board!

Bob

My condolences on your Moms death. I know what a difficult experience losing someone to cancer is for all concerned. It sounds like a great treat for her to have seen your cover.
