| | A shoulder to ![001[1]3424](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/001[1]3424.gif) on. Well, I am the last person to look for sympathy, actually I am not, just need to dump on someone I guess. I've been to a doctor about a total of 10 times if that in my adult life, and thats been a longtime. In CA it was totally unaffordable for anyone but for those of us without insurance you can just forget it. Now here in Idaho, just down the street from me is a great little clinic that a doctor started for people without insurance, cost goes by your income. Took awhile but I got hooked up there. Just had my first MD appointment and dental. I am now scheduled for a biopsy of the female variety and to top it off the only hope for my teeth (which don't look bad but hurt like heck) is to be ripped out and get dentures! Worst, I have a Torus Petella (sp?) on the roof of my mouth that has to be removed in order for dentures to fit. This reqires an oral Surgeon ($$$$$) I have a deep raging infection in my jaw bones. Tons of antibiotics since I've had reumatic fever as a kid. To top things off AFTER I tell hubby whats what, he goes to Wal-Mart and comes home with a compressor!!!!! Then its on/off switch doesn't work! On the bright side (ha) I have at least 8 weeks of looking like a complete hag starting the 6th so I guess I get to do LOTS of carving and yard work.
Thanks, just needed to get it off my chest. No replys required

| | Re: A shoulder to well it takes awhile to get the dentures done and fitted and temp linings etc etc...but when its done, in my case at least, is sure better than the originals that had weak enamel and couldn't keep fillings in them....I too hated to go to a dentist, no problem now LOL . I had them all taken out at once, when they do that they put the temp dentures right in...so you are not running around without teeth! As for the others, your husband had to get the compressor for the jackhammer to remove the teeth |

| | Re: A shoulder to Nancy, I would suggest that you look up your birth certificate and check the date. Several years ago I checked mine. My warranty had run out. I checked for recalls, and found none. After 50 there isn't a month that goes by without something going wrong. We can only hope that it's not too serious and we can joke about it. Good luck. | | Re: A shoulder to I am sorry to hear about your setbacks Nancy. I am like Tom H and Kenny after 50 there is not a day goes by that something falls off or goes bad. I know you won't believe me but it could always be worse. Good luck and hope things improve.

| | Re: A shoulder to Sorry to hear of your difficulties Nancy. I hope that all goes well.
Just another reason why I'm proud to be a Canadian, our health care is provided for us free. No wonder we can't afford a decent armed forces, we spend it all on health care.

| | Re: A shoulder to Ain't it the truth?
I've heard the 'old folks' (older than me, anyway) say that if you get up in the morning and nothing hurts, it is a sign you have died in the night. Black humour, but better than none, I suppose.
Hang in there Nancy, before ya know it, you'll have a million dollar smile! (literally!) | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
