Good work Rick. If you ever give up carving or tool making for a living, you could always turn to writing! You have many talents my friend, thank you for sharing them with us.

I love reading your stories. The Grandpa's gift one always brings a tear to my eye. You are a rich man to see the world through your eyes and be able to share experiences with such sensitivity.
Thanks for the post.

It is nice to know that people enjoy my writing.

I had the pleasure of meeting my favorite author earlier this month.
He is 74 years old, so I thought I had better go to his book signing if I was to ever see him.

Most of my favorite carvers I never had a chance to meet; even though many were still alive when I started carving.
That is one of my deepest regrets; never meeting those outstanding carvers.

i think being classed a remington by some carvers standards,
a norman rockwell by other storytellers,
is better than being an old fart by others standards like some of us

great stories rick

I agree with Eddy ^^^! Get a book out, quick!

I'm just getting over the flu, and some of those stories sound so much like things that have happened to me, I started snickering, then guffawing, progressing eventually to flat out belly laughing.

My head hurts worse than ever, my bones ache even more, and my rump is sore from where I fell off my chair laughing.

I feel amazingly good, if somewhat sore. Thanks Rick! My laugh - not for the day - but for the entire weekend.
