I recently purchased the latest issue of Scrollsaw woodworking and crafts magazine and found an interesting article on doing a fret picture of a tiger and then carving it in a relief type carving. I have not done much relief carving but I do fret work portraits and when I find the time I may try it. If I am happy with it I have a John Wayne portrait I may try.Just thought I would mention it in case anyone is interested in what I think may be a new type carving.

I will have to look into that a bit more Thanx! I know when I carve my jewelry, I use a combination of fretwork and relief carving. It sure makes a piece dramatic
