Hi Jim,
I would have gone to the Sacramento carving show, but just returned from Europe - presently in New York. The trip again convinced me that we have very few carvers in the U.S. Visiting cathedrals in Madrid, Granada, Seville, Barcelona and Paris, I saw incredible frames, door panels, choir seats, deep deep relief and pierced carvings, "in-the-round" figures of all types. Of course, much of this stuff is very old; there are few young carvers there too.

that sounds like a great idea ....We need to work on that ....I will be getting back with you and find out what we want to do.....maybe a dinner with every one .....or...... or.... or..... or...... maybe getting someone from wci to come out to california....there must be a million things we can do ...even ask everyone involved for sugestions...we will work on that.
