Default It's That Time Of Year Again!

It may icing and snowing in the upper half of the country but us flatlanders are having above normal temperatures and my raised bed garden is loving it! I can't believe how everything is so green. We haven't had much rain but the advantage of the raised bed is that you can trap moisture and even recycle it if you want. I've got garlic, green oinons, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, carrots, beets, lettuce and marigolds planted and we're already enjoying some great salads with the lettuce and green onion stalks! Ahhhhhh! Life is good!

Looks like our friends in OK and Kansas are getting blasted again this year. We in central Ohio just had bout 6 inches of snow that is now gone cause of mucho rain. Still more rain to come and the temps are expected to be 55 tomorrow. It sure is ugly out there with no green lawns nor trees. Just mud now. You don't think that BIG AL is right after all do you?
By the way, I'm envious of your little garden....Tom H

Well we can use a bit of Global Warming around here this week. -15 to -10 the last three or four nights and 2 feet of snow, but it's settled to about 16".
No raised gardens blooming around here, and in place of bees we have "snow flies"!

Well today Lou and I walked 1 1/2 miles on a sheet of ice to the Dr's office and back home. The rest of the day we carried in fire wood and stocked up on things in case we loose power from the forcasted ice. We are currently getting freezing rain and are expected to get up to an inch or two of ice. Last time or last year we were without power for a week. I hope we have better luck this time. In case you don't hear from me in the next few days that is because no power. Glad your raised bed is doing so well.
Ron

So far, The Lord has blessed us with power.

I will trade this heat with anyone that lives where a winter happens every year. Most enjoyable time of my life was recruiting for the Marine Corps out of Sioux Falls, S.D. Oh well, everyone have a Merry Christmas!

The ice has made it up here in my part of the country, but its suppose to turn to rain later in the afternoon. They're calling for a few inches of snow tonight. So far, we've been a lot luckier than the folks south of us. The raised bed garden looks so good I can almost taste the fresh greens. Have a great day!
