Default re-posting a photo

I know that once you post a photo,,you can't do it again. And I've wanted to many times for a variety of topics. I also know that if you rename a photo you are SUPPOSED to be able to re-post it. I just read where RussL has the same problems. And I have tried countless times renaming photos and it still won't accept them. Is there a reason this happens or what is the reason for not being able to repost a photo?
Or just resort to saying,,,"just search the entire site for a photo of what I'm trying to describe,,,I know it's out there somewhere..."

This actually drives me crazier than the stupid Smilies

Mark,

I reduce the picture size by 1 pixel and found that it will re-post.

mark, when you go to your user cp (button left top on screen) you find in the list under "miscelaneous" a button "attachments", click that and you get a page where all the attachments you have made are listed..at the bottom of that list you can click "thumb nails" to view little previews of the images, so you know whats behind the name...click the image you want, a new window occurs with that image, copy the line of the browser window and paste it into your post, like so :

http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.co...e_to_joy_5.jpg
this is image i have posted already...

or you can make it show like

byy clicking (in advanced posting) the little image icon, and paste the address you copied there... i hope this helps

I appreciate that Brian,,but I'm brain dead when it comes to these things. I was thrilled that after about 10 tries I figured out how to simply POST a photo...now your telling me this? Oh good Lord, ,,I'm a guy with 15th century skills living in the 21st century.
I don't fit in.

I just bought another new computer simply 'cause I don't know what's wrong with this one. Fix it??? Nawww,,,just get another one. It's bigger better faster ,,they tell me,,,Sure,,O.K. give it to me. End of story.

OOPS ,,,Doris,,,you got in ahead of me. Thanks,,,now I'll just try and decipher what you said. It's clear as mud to me. Copy? I do that with graphite paper,,,paste,,,don't have any but I do have some Titebond will that work? Browser,,,that's what they call me at the local bookstores,,,windows,,don't remind me,,mine need cleaning,,buttons,,yeah,,missing one on my shirt.I'll get there,,give me time,,,Maybe I should just go back to carving,,THAT I seem to understand,,,it's basic enough to wrap my feeble mind around,,,

Oh boy! I'm just sitting here laughing at myself like a silly fool.
Thanks Doris,,I appreciate it. I also appreciate the fact that knowing the type of work you do that you are a very intelligent woman,,but you have overlooked one important and pertinent fact...I'm an IDIOT.
I shouldn't be allowed around these machines. The computer companies love me,,'cause I just keep buying more of them.
I believe the new one has voice recognition. Great,,,now I'll just talk to the computer instead of just myself but I hope it has some kind of filter in it 'cause when I go off I hope it doesn't record everything I'm saying ..The posts will get rather vulgar with how I talk to the computer now.
I don't think that's such a good idea.
The point is ( from an idiot's point of view) if they can have Smiles come up automatically,,,why do I have to jump through hoops to simply repost a photo I've already posted? The computer seems to know I've already posted it,,,why can't it just say " Hey..you want to post that piece of garbage again,,,10 times,,,go ahead,,knock yourself out" But NOOOOO you have to jump through some more hoops.
I'm sure to most of you out there this is too simple to talk about,,,but I'm barely above a trained monkey.

mark, its not your computer knowing that you posted these images, that is the reason why it is a little more difficult.. do you want me talk you through reposting here in this thread a single image... ? you will see, if i tell you step by step, you can do it,,,then you make notes of how you did it in your words, and then you can do it on your own later on... just tell me you want, the we do it ...

Doris,,you are just too sweet! Why do you bother with a fool like me?

But I do think I 'kinda,,sort of know what you were describing in your earlier post.

Definitely Maybe

I'm sure I'll figure it out and won't I be so pleased with myself thinking I'm the new Bill Gates when I do!

With the new machine being wireless I can take it out to the shop with me. That way if anything goes wrong the last post you see from me will end with a mallet flying through your screens.

Doris, you are so sweet and kind. Your patience is astounding.
Mark, you are far from an idiot. You just want to do what you do best and not have your life complicated with this computer stuff! The voice recognition might be OK, but I would rather it have (mind recognition) as in it knows what I'm trying to do...so just do it! LOL!

Mind recognition? Heck,,I have a hard enough time deciphering what goes on in my mind to figure out what should come out of my mouth,,let alone my fingertips when typing.
That's assuming the computer could recognize my mind.I don't recognize it half the time. Where in the world are these thought coming from?

I'm bewildered and in a fog.
