I have a few Large Carving power tools that are gathering dust ... ie: Anglehead Grinders with Kutzall discs and etc. I would like to read an answer to the posted suggestion.

Smile Re: Is it proper

Bob has brought your tool selling thread to my attention and advertising your no longer used or extra tools in the classified section of Wood Carving Illustrated is a great idea (and I'm not just saying that because I deal with the advertising Smile ). What better way to reach a wide range of people at different skill levels and offer your tools? Our classified section is very reasonably priced and all ads are charged per word. I can work with you on wording, etc so that you get your message across. If you would like more information, please contact me at cindy@foxchapelpublishing.com or (800)457-9112 ext. 26.

I'm flummoxed just imagining a carver selling his/her tools, no matter what the reason. I thought half the fun was collecting them!

Check that URL again. It doesn't seem to be valid.

Well now, Ash, I've been thinking about that. You see, I bought this Powercrafter and discovered it is not for me. It doesn't have enough torque for the applications I need it for. It is top of the line with a stainless body and runs at 500,000 RPMs instead of 400,000. Would like to just get my money back. It is listed on Ebay under crafts-woodcarving.
I also have this Hegner scrollsaw I want to sell privately. I never use it and it is just taking up room and gathering dust. Anyone interested can E-mail me for details.
Hope this is okay. If not , some moderator can remove it.
Stop that foot tapping! It drives people crazy!

Here's a suggestion that I think would solve both problems of those who want to unload a few tools and those who don't want to see this forum turn into a flea market:

Why not set up a "Tools for Sale" thread that would not appear in this forum but would be available in the left hand column "Carving Community"?

I have nothing against people wanting to rid themselves of things they no longer need or use but I think we should keep this forum centered on carving.

Lynn, I think that sounds like a good idea. That is the thinking that caused me to be so hesitant about posting these items, even after being encouraged to do so. There is no better place to sell woodworking tools than one like this but I was worried sbout trying it. Lynn's suggestion sounds very workable to me.
