Default "Pine"ing to carve! (Pun intended)

Good day my friends,

Haven't been able to carve much lately and I'm anxious to get back at it. Surgery, followed by a darn cold (trust me folks, don't sneeze when you have stitches!!!) and travel (my Mom's sick) and babysitting (helping our daughter with our granddaughter so she can work) just robbed me of the energy to get at it. I keep hoping each new day, that that will be the one, but so far, not yet. I suppose I'm just too anxious.
I did have a great day Wednesday in some ways, I travelled with my other daughter to a city close by (hour and a half) while she visited a doctor, and we stopped at a lumber shop on our way out of the city. WOW, did I get some great wood!!! Picked up some nice Cherry for a couple of canes and a few splendid pieces of beautiful Mahogany for a bunch of different stuff. One piece of Mahogany is incredible....a good 15" wide and 2" thick, but short, maybe 24" long....perfect size for me though. If all this great wood don't get me pumped up to carve , nothing will! Love the lumber shop, so much wood, so little time!

Bob

Hi Bob,

I know how you feel. Whatever you do don't ever get one of those orange things behind the lumber in the picture because the dilemma only gets worse!

Hope ya get the chips a fly'n soon.

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling so good. glad that you are feeling good enough to go shoping for wood , that a good thing. try not to drool on all that wood you got , it will stain it. lol

Just old Jim
