I doubt it unless the carving is extremely flat. You need to take the picture with a digital camera, then download it into your computer. When you compose a posting, you can attach the photo by browsing and selecting the photo from your computer files.

Phil Thanks for the reply. I was able to do it on some of the scroll saw sites and was wondering if I would be able to do it with spoons and little people. I don't have a digital camera and would rather buy tools or wood . I thought that it might be a different set up here.

robert,
folks use all kind of devices to make pictures, phones with cameras, scanners and even web cams, I did use a webcam at first.

Although there is a stiff learning curve in adjusting the crop of the picture and size limit the board will take it can be done,, before i got a winfall and bought a digital i was in the same place as you,
web cams now about 2mp for about $40.00 at walmarts.

i used a bunch of cheap cameras and even my webcam. the pictures all suffered from low quality which couldnt be fixed without buying or borrowing a cameras..

if you check the kodak web site they have trade in cameras, or did have. so folks can upgrade to newer modles, kodak takes these cameras and rebuilds them and offers them as refurbished for little of nothing compared to the original price..

as for pictures and quality.
i bought a kodak c653 ay walmarts, its a 6 megapixel camera, its a total over the top camera for making the phots just for the board.
as we are limited to post in the message base, the file size and dimensions of a 6mp image is 100 times the size limitation the message base can handle.
even a 1mp image is too big,
so keep this in mind when you search for a camera, 1.5mp is more than enough to make photos for the form...

good luck with the search...

You can use a picture say from a book or mag in your scanner then save it to a folder on your PC then post it any where, You can right click{save as is} and save any jpeg pict on line and post it also. All depends on what type of scanner you have on ur PC.

Thanks for the replies. I may play around and see if I can scan a picture.
Thomp when I'm ready for a camera I will check Kodak's web site . It sounds just right for me.
