Default Patience !!

I another thread someone mentioned that I must have the patience of a saint. Well I have my moments. I stayed very calm last night at 11:30 when my moron neighbor called and woke me up to ask if I wanted to come and watch them shoot fireworks at midnight (Duh). I just said no I remember what they look like. The fun began again this morning when Lou and I walked down to a nearby restraunt for breakfast for me anyway Lou had his already. I walk into the restraunt and she says how many your such a pretty boy. I knew instantly that she was talking to Lou I haven't been called a pretty boy for years and years. I told her just one and she said this way again talking to Lou otherwise how in the heck do I know which way this way is(Duh). Another pet peeve pointing. So I sat down at the table after I get her straighted out on how to give directions and then the fun begins all over with the waitress. She leaves me a menu and while she is gone getting me coffee I go over the menu. When she comes back I told her I wanted a no 7 eggs medium. She just stood there I guess until she got the nerve to ask me how I came to the conclusion I wanted a no. 7. I told her that I had the dog read the menu for me and she left. The fun didn't stop there though I asked her if there was jelly on the table and where it was at she said yes (Duh). So here I am knocking over my glass of water trying to find the salt and pepper and jelly and when she does show up she just asked if I wanted more water and poor ole Lou got up and moved out of the water fall. The best part was when we got up to leave Lou came out from under the table just as another waitress came around the corner and she screamed bloody murder ( It's A DOG) I just turned my head from side to side like I was looking and said where.. She was not a dog lover and she about left a puddle on the floor when she saw Lou. When I was going out the door I brushed someone coming in and he said for me to watch where I was going(Duh). How is that a way to start the new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Ron

That's a great idea Susan, except that you're expecting the same idiots to take the time to "read" the t-shirt.
It'll never work.
Good luck with that Ron. It does make me wonder how many blunders I have made along the way towards folks without knowing it.
Happy New Year Ron.... speaking in a rather quiet tone...

Ron my friend just put it down to ignorant people, I can see your frustration though. If you check the Pet Peeves thread you will see my comments there. You sometimes wonder where these people come from or where there heads are. Dont try to judge everyone for the actions and comments of a few. Ron even the dull and the ignorant they too have their story. You are a good person and have enough in life to persevere with. Your attitude and enthusiasm get you though life just fine dont worry about those morons and their comments.
Ron I have spent a few days with Lou and I know he probably the smartest dog I have ever met. But can he really read?
Colin
Happy new year buddy

OK so Lou can't read but he is great with pictures. No just kidding. I learned along time ago to take everything with a grain of salt or in other words consider the source. Usually when someone makes one of these bone head moves or comments I just figure they are showing me their IQ level. I have had several people pm me though and ask how I did know what I wanted on the menu. I recently got me a new reader it is called KNFB mobile reader. It is a cell phone ,GPS and a pedomitor and much more. The reader I take a picture of the menu is this case and the phone converts the text from the picture to words and it reads it back to me. I love it at allot of different aplications and it works great. I use it when traveling at the airport I don't have to find an honest person to help me read the information on my ticket I can read it myself. It works on newspapers an books. It is so smart the reader recognises colomns in the paper an will read each colomn as it is written. So now you know my secret.
Ron

I have to think Ron that most folks mean well, as we've discussed before, it's just they more than likely never have been around folks with disabilties and honestly don't know how to 'help or not help' for that matter. For the most part we are a crowd of people that seek independence and when a time comes to 'help or not help 'we question ourselves "does he/she want the the help and if they do, what do I do to help, and by the time we've asked these questions of ourselves you've already wiped the blood from you nose meeting the 1/2 opened door, picked up your dropped packages(knives probably) and crossed the busy street. Most people mean well, I think. I know, you know this, that's why you have a lot of patience with us. I must say you have more patience than I. As for moving the bright yellow and red sign on your service dog that says "Please don't Pet" TO PET, there is no accounting for NUMBNESS. I have seen this happen with Ron. Strange.

I don't want everyone to think I was complaining . These things that I mentioned are everyday type of things that happen and I learned along time ago to live with them. I just thought it was kind of funny to have that many in a row. I listen to Bill Engvall the comedian always say heres your sign for the stupid thing people say and like to make a simular list as he does. Life is too short to let things get you down so I learned along time ago to laugh at life as much as possible. This was simular to Keoma's thread about Pet Peeves but different enough that I didn't want to walk on hers.

I don't know if it is stupidity or they being wrapped up in their own little world. But, I guess, soical graces have no meaning in today's world.

I understand Ron, I set with a couple whose husband was almost blind. Just can see blurs but enough blindness for people to know he is blind and he had all kinds of stories to tell about his experiences. It is a shame though that people shy away from those who have a problem seeing.
But then, sometimes you have to deal with what life has given you also.

Hang in there Buddy, which I know you will. hey, maybe you should write a book about your experiences with waitresses and salepeople.
