Default Off list for a while.

My friends in August of 2004 we started building a house here on the ranch. Except for contracting the dirt work and foundation construction, only the contractor, my wife, and I are doing the work. No small undertaking in a house with 3,000 square feet under roof and when there are no blueprints, just a floor plan and some vague ideas as to the finished product. Almost each day there is a, "What if we....." that brings major changes to the house.

The motif is an Ozark farmhouse circa 1915. We are trying to conceal as many of the modern necessities (indoor plumbing) as possible. It has caused slow going.

Finally, we have set September 16th as a target for an open house. Diana and I have not taken a trip of more than a few days since we started. With the end in sight, we feel that we can suspend work and be gone for a few weeks (at this stage everything shows and we don't want this without our stamp of approval).

Soooooo......Saturday morning we depart for Creede, Colorado. I will not be doing woodcarving; but, am remaining close. I plan to do a moose antler carving. We will be staying in the "high country" a little longer and will not be returning until around the 20th of July.

Paul,

Have a very safe, relaxing and FUN trip.

When you get that house finished, I would LOVE to see it. I am in Springfield and travel down there often. Actually will be in Bergman (Harrison) often starting in July. AND I can see real carvings in person!!!

Safe trip Paul. I hope you will post pictures of your new home soon and let us see this major project you and your wife have undertaken. Especially the carved beams or trim if I remember correctly from awhile back.
Enjoy your time away.

Well Bill, I guess you are going to be off the list for a while also.

We too are staying at Mountain Views RV Park. Diana and I plan on arriving on the 4th and staying until the 18th (going to enjoy some of that cool weather). A carving friend, Steve DiGiacomo will be there also. I will be in a "Wildcat" 5th Wheel being pulled by a black, Ford, Crew Cab truck. There is an Arkansas Razorback wheel cover on the rear of the trailer.

Have you pulled up the Creede site on the weather channel? It will be interesting enough for us arriving from the South. But, I lived near Tucson (at the western unit of Saguaro National Park) for 8 years ('75-83') and am well aware of the June heat.

Looking forward to meeting you in person.
