| | Off to Idaho or ever had one of those days PartII Well, I am in Idaho while my place in Pioneertown, CA is up in flames. My husband is the only person in our area that refused to evacuate. He has been fighting the fire for our place as well as going around to the neighbors homes, putting out what fire he can for them and caring for the animals they had to leave behind. I am just sick. I want to try to get an emergency flight back but he says it will be useless since I wouldn't be allowed back into the area. In the mean time I am trying to not be a downer for my hosts here but its tough. A strange thing yeserday morning before leaving, I sat by my pond (man made) looking around and started feeling a bit like I was seeing it for the last time. Thought to myself, I was only going to Idaho to look around this time, it wasn't the big move. Hmm, wonder if I was having a little ESP sort of moment. Sure glad I have all you guys to dump on. Thanks for "listening"
Take care, Nancy

Was just watching fires on TV, looks like they are at it pretty hard.
I know exactly how you feel as we just went through some fires nearby. Still got the evac kit ready.
Hope your area makes it alright.

There is little I can say , except I hope your home is safe, and more than that is that your husband will be. My thoughts are with him and I will say an extra prayer.

You and your husband are in my prayers also. In particular for your husband's safety. "Things" can be replaced. Folks can't. Hoping and praying for the best for you.

| | Re: Off to Idaho or ever had one of those days PartII So terribly sorry to hear of your loss. I hope your husband is safe! The house can be replaced, though your tools, carvings and all the special things take somewhat longer to replace. Wild fires/forest fires are a real nightmare, our oldest daughter still has nightmares of our close call 20 years ago that almost took our brand new house. I know close don't count, but when you grab the kids and and drive away not expecting to see the place again, it establishes a real memory! Our thoughts and prayers are with you Nancy.
