| | no photos posted I have agonized about posting this as it seems so petty, but I can't help myself. More and more posts are showing up touting a new carving and then no photo, but rather a link to their website or photo trail etc. If your gonna post ,post a photo,I don't want to go surfing all over the place to see your carving. post at least one,if I like it I'll go try to navigate thru your other site. Just my opinion, not trying to start any arguments. Arnie

| | Re: no photos posted I don't see a problem with this request, Arnie! It does make sense. I know many of us have high-speed internet, which makes it a snap to zip from one page to another. But if you've got dial up, it can be sheer torture!
Thanks for bringing this up! It's things like this that continue to make the forum a better place!

| | Re: no photos posted I agree with Arnie. It's a pain to be interested in a photo the Thread is talking about, for instance an "Eagle", click on the attached link(website) and then have to figure out which of his catagories the "eagle" is shown in. Each website is different and, sorry, but I usually won't take the time to figure it out.
Good one Arnie, I've not been happy with this current thrend either. But ultimately it's the choice of the Thread writer. If it's easy to view I want to see it, if its not I'll move on.

| | Re: no photos posted Since it was brought up I would like to take it a step further. I know it hard to remember to do but it would be nice if it also included a good description of what it is. I have had several PM's that ask why I don't comment on other peoples work. I can't comment about what I can't see or tell what it is by description. It don't have to be a book just a brief outline. I am smarter than I look I'm told.

| | Re: no photos posted Ron, Please remind us to describe the photos we post. Especially us older folks who can't seem to remember much of anything. I am very quilty of this. I used to think that it would be really hard to take this extra step when posting a photo. But I don't think it is. I just posted in the Holiday section a photo of two Mark Gargac inspired carvings. Both are in the Gargac style Christmas Ornaments. One is a Santa and one is just an old guy. The Santa is 5/8 inch wide and 2 1/4 inches high. The old man is 2 inches high and 5/8 inches wide. They are small, but I hope I have captured the Mark Gargac style. Now I have to admit that it this description was easy. If this is all it takes for you to "see the carvings" please keep on reminding us to provide it.
Thanks.

| | Re: no photos posted I completely agree. The thumbnails are great. Sometime in an involved discussion of a carving I like to open one up several times as other points are brought up.
Although I get cranky when I have to resize my photos to upload them. I have the size set on the camera for the horizontal requirements but when I have to turn the camera vertical I have to resize to post.
You have made a great suggestion.
