OK this is getting a bit old! Every month we are the last in a long line to get our issue...if I am not mistaken, some of you received yours a week and a half ago! Is that right? How about some dates from those of you that have received yours, I think maybe a fire needs to be set under the printer or distributor!! imhoThumbs Dow

Hi Ho, I haven't gotten mine yet - I will assume that mine would be a day or 2 later than yours, to allow the snails to crawl that much farther west. Sandy |

I got mine last Thursday, February 9th and I feel quite fortunate because I always seem to get mine right away??? I'm quite sure that it's the sole fault of the US postal Service and not WCI or the publisher's, but I'm just guessing. UPS sure has given the postal Service a run for their money on competition for package-type deliveries over the last few decades but unfortunately, the postal Service still has "The" monopoly on the smaller first class type mail like letters and "ah-hummm"....periodicals like magazines. Sure wish there was a "way" to light a fire under another government beurocracy but it don't look like UPS or Fed-Ex wants it, soooooooooo... I guess we're all at the mercy of the postal Service when "they" want us to get our magazine. Maybe we should write our senators and representatives in Washington!!! Good luck on that though.

Hi-Ho, I think it has to do with the part of the country we live in. I get several publications on poultry as well as the Carving mags. I never get my stuff before the 20th or so of the month when others have already had theirs a week or two. I think it all comes down to USPS.

I believe that the speed at which a magazine arrives from the printer is directly related to the amount of postage the publisher pays. I send packages from Ohio to California several times a month, shipped PRIORITY MAIL. Gets there in 2 days. Book rate is somewhat cheaper, but it may take up to 2 weeks to arrive. TOM H |

Dave, I hate to rub salt in the sore spots, but I got mine on Wednesday, Feb 8th. Personally, I think it's cause you live in the warm sunshine--so your magazines take longer as a perk for those of us liviing in the real winter. All joking aside, I don't think it's got anything to do with WCI--it's all in how that kind of mail is handled. Would you like me to photocopy 5-6 pages of it and send it to you when I get mine, just to tide you over? We feel your pain!Head Bange Donna T

Nancy, do you get "Turkey Carving Illustrated"? Is there a forum from that mag? Can you recomend the best turkey carving knife? Do you use power or just hand tools? Do you buy your birds plucked or do you use roughouts with the feathers on? What did you think about the Thanksgiving issue? Is it possible to get reprints of issue #1? Oh, I have a million questions that I hope you can help with. Al Last edited by AlArchie; 02-14-2006 at 07:06 AM. |
