Default New pattern for Ron

I know I don't post much of what I am doing , I am sure for the most part it would bore you to death. But I am almost finished a project Ron and i have been working on I thought you would enjoy seeing the pattern.

The finished pattern for Ron will be over 28 inches x 20 inches. It has over 4000 lines and to get the perspective correct the majority had to be worked in a 3-D format and the converted to a 2d line. It is entirely an orginial design made up for Ron.

Hope you enjoy it

Garry

Garry,
Great patterm. Having met Ron and been in his shop, he is truly an inspiration and all around great guy and really after listening to Ron talk about how much help and encouragement you have given him, I know you are an inspiration in your own right. I saw Ron working on one of your patterns, I am truly impressed.

Keith ,
Thanks.
Working with Ron has taught me more about what is really needed in a pattern than I would have ever quessed. It is really an awaking experience to learn what we take for granted everyday and how much more is out there.

Coilin , I will put a bag of ice on my head, to reduce any swelling ! Right now what I am working on , a pattern of Teddy Roosevelt, a scroll saw portrait of a young man in the military, a grad plaque, patterns for two tree carvings, 3 sets of drumsticks, two retirement plaques , a large west virgina plaque , two picture frames , 40 5x7 wooden birch ovals for a family reunion , and in my spare time two walking carved walking staffs , one in chestnut and one in spanish cedar.

And somewhere in there, paperwork , and taxes. LOL

To me it is amazing how time flies. Garry and I have been working on this pattern system for about two years. What is also happening is that with each new project we try and push the limits of what is possible for me to do with each pattern. This river boat pattern is a real challenging project that is going to put me to another level. When we decide on each new pattern Garry looks for things that I want in the way of a design and then he looks for a bigger challenge like the river bost. I like doing the barns and such but there is allot more that will make me more deversified. I will let you have a peek at one that I am working on along with the barn scene that I posted later when I get a little more done and you will see how we raise the level each time.
Ron

This story continues to amaze so many of us. I read the word "amazing" so often in these posts that I worry that some of us do not really grasp the significance of what Garry, Susan and Ron have done, and what they continue to do to help Ron remain an active carver. Let me add incredible to the list of adjectives that still fail to describe this story. What a friend you've been Garry, and what an inspiration you've been, Ron. Thanks. Mike
