Kathy ,
Thank you. You know as the years has passed she has gotten more beautiful , me I just got older .

When people me us I am asked how did YOU every get that lucky ... I tell them I lied well .

Now when people ask her... she tells them I lied !

Whitecree , 26 years she has been stuck with me. Now the really amazing part is she has actually put up with me that long .. hell most of the time I would Divorce me !

See there is a good reason to ask , I would never consider adding myself to the carving. But I think I know what I will do if I can get the pattern right.

Thanks all .
Garry

I vote for both of you together. And both your names on it?

I've seen a shadow box that would be a neat idea for you too. Not to be morbid.. but this shadow box had two dowels in it that when one passed..their wedding ring was placed on it. Both rings were in there with wedding picture and a momento from each milestone anniversary the couple had. THere was ribbon from the wedding in there too. It was really touching. Maybe have a spot on your carving where the rings can be placed later?

Ash,

Very sweet idea! And I'm with the majority - carve both of you. This would also be a great heirloom to pass down to one of your sons.

Ash,
If it were me, it would definitely mean more to have both in the carving. I think it is a wonderful idea. Please share progress pics of whatever your choice is. I am sure whatever you decide will be beautiful and your lovely wife will cherish it.

Garry,
I'd vote for both of you too. And I think it would have even more meaning if it was done on something other than just a plaque--like a small box (jewelry box sized), larger box (like a quilt or memorabilia box), or even the cover for a photo album.

I think it is especially sweet that you're putting the thought and love into a gift for your wife...and I suspect that's one of the reasons you've been allowed to hang around for so long.

Let us know what you do with the project--and how much she loves it.

Ok ,
I guess I will carve both of us.

Thank you ladies.

As far as a work in progress, I will see. I really like the idea of the ring tree. And I guess I can carve the names and date in the outer frame. Yep I think I can use our song ( which she thinks I never remember)in the over frame and the names and date in the under frame. Put the key rings on each side to seperate the frame. Should be good. Not sure I can get it done in time for this year but we'll see still have a lot before I can start and that will take a while to do.

Thanks again.

Garry

Is to say it would be nice to think so ... but I know the real reason

She has the credit card and checkbooK !

Really it is because I make her laugh..

Really it is because of our kids ..

Really it is because .. I am always gone and give 10 min notice before I get home

A quilt box , or a cedar chest Nice Donna Something I will think about. !

Thank you
Garry
