| | Re: neat stuff Isn't the carving work amaizing in Europe! I've never been, but seen lots of pics. One of the things I miss here in the backwoods, is nice architectural carvings on building. Have to go to some cities to find any, and here in North America, many cities have none either. Ottawa has a good selection and Montreal.
Would love to spend time in Italy, Britain, France, Germany, for example and study their carvings.

| | Re: neat stuff These were in Paris. Many of these were hundred of years old. Here, we tend to just tear down old buildings to but up new ones, there they tend to preserve their history. It was amazing to see some of the churches, palaces and bridges built and still standing ,some done by Napoleon, and a couple from the 3rd century!1700 yrs! and how old are we? 200+...WOW! |

| | Re: neat stuff Great link, thanks. Churches/Cathedrals are a great source of work,to see as well as do. Many a repairs in these places have kept me busy, and lead to new work.Because of them approx. 50% , if not more of my work comes from churches.Anyone out there looking for something to do to have a change of pace,,check out your local churches. |
