Did you know 8 U.S. Congressmen were arrested for shoplifting last year?!? 14 for drug related charges! 71 can't get a credit card because of bad credit! 84 for drunk driving!
Did you know the average delegate to the United Nations has a 3rd grade education and 5 wives!?!
None of this is an April fools joke, it's true!
I once caught a College Professor shoplifting. He told me "they don't arrest College Professors!" He was wrong! The cuffs fit just fine!
Wade

Wade, those numbers seem spot on, and reflect the boneheaded attitude of politicians everywhere. Professors, well, they just don't live in the real world now do they! They figure we all should treat them the way students do, and bow and scrape....."Opps......wrong again professor!"

My favorite bust was of a Manager in our company, caught him selling contracts for a % of them.

Bob

Professors and politicians are like diapers.
And should be changed often for the same reason.

Only one shoplifter has been caught stealing from my company since I have been in business. Although it is common to lose items at shows, I do not make a special effort to watch shoppers.

This gentleman slipped a $24.95 carving book under his sweater at a large carving show; he wasn't caught until he took some tools at the next vendors table, that is when the book was found.

He was the Vice President of a woodcarving club.

The two years prior most of the vendors were losing tools on a regular basis, once he was caught, the majority of the losses stopped.

The legal situation was nothing compared to the personal embarrassment this gentleman suffered, and I am sure he still lives with today.

Unfortunately, I am not convinced those types are embarrassed! I think they are without honor and integrity to start with, so...based on what, would they be embarrassed? Have no use for a liar OR a thief! Oh I suppose a misplaced pride.....but in what?

Not much that has been mentioned surprises me a whole lot.....in 25 years of law enforcement, I've arrested congressmen, senators (both state and federal), teachers, policemen, ministers, mayors, lawyers, businessmen, a judge, well, you get the idea. Not much of that bothers me, because they were always in a minority of others in their professions who were doing equally honorable jobs.

One little postscript......that CLANK of a jail cell door sounds the same for whoever it's closed behind! Always liked thay sound!

The UN, though, now there's a scary situation!

Al

WOW, just porves no one is above the law, even cops. I know, We have one in jail for robbery and rape.

I speed and if and when I get caught, comeing from a police family, all I will say is, Yes sir to the questiom, "do you know how fast you were going"?
Memebers of both sides of the family jhave been police officers, sheriffs and Chief of detectives, Chief of Police so, no reason to moan and groan when that times come.

Do I speed? Yes, life is to short to waste time driving slow!

The best shoplifting tip of all: Don't get caught!

But since you will, sooner or later be caught, the best tip then becomes DON'T.

Kenny_S, I love the last line you wrote Do I speed? Yes, life is too short to waste time driving slow

And then your signature about safety first.
