Default I miss carving!

Haven't been able to carve for a few days due to a bout with Diverticulitis which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Getting better with the antibiotics and liquid diet but can't wait to start chipping again. Doc also told me that I'm straining too much while I carve. Could be, but I think its time to find a new Doc because I'm not quitting and besides, I've still got a shed full of walnut. Have a great day!

Well, therein lies the problem--you should be eating walnut, not carving walnut. LOL--sorry, I couldn't resist.

My Dad had a bout of the D--among many other ailments (he was 86) earlier this year and he was miserable. So, I have an idea of what you're going through. I hope you recover quickly. As for the carving, maybe switch to softer wood like bass or pine so you'll ease the straining stuff. You can still carve the walnut--just switch off to give your body a break. Also, maybe power carving. Don't like it myself, but given the choice of power carving or TV, I'll take the power carving any day!

Take care,
Bob

Dan .. Prayers on your speedy recovery .. My dad also use to have it and it's painful ..

Our old bodies just have a way of telling us when it's overdue for a break ..
But our minds love it so much ... were afraid madness might set in if we quit ..

Take care of yourself and with time were be seeing those wonderful piece's of yours ..

Gene
