Default Mesa AZ Show

I was just wondering if anyone was going to the show in Mesa AZ this weekend? I have the best of intentions, but might get stuck digging out of our latest snow storm. It was a pretty good show last year, I am no expert but I liked it.
Maybe see some one there, Dave, Kathy?

Hi Jim, I'm planning on being there in the early afternoon and hang around to pick-up on Sunday. I'm anxious to see the show and meet Lori Corbett. Several of our club members including myself will have work in the show. I'm anxious to be able to spend more time at the show this year and really take-in all the vendor's and demo's. Sooo OK, shall we all wear a bandaide on one of our thumbs? I'm left handed so I'll have a bandaide on my right thumb.

Kathy & Marysvaleron,
I am thinking I'll be there around noon. I would be the short portly guy with a short grey beard and planning on wearing red plaid flannel shirt, the wife will be with me also. Sure hope the weather behaves.
Look forward to meeting you all.
Jim

Hi Jim, and Mary looking forward to meeting you and anyone else from WCI who's going. I'll wear my carving name tag I made...it has a knife and chisel as part of the design. That will be easier to spot than a bandaid on my thumb. LOL
HiHo, Kenny would be great to see you two also, but understand. Yep, HiHo's right ice belongs in a glass. LOL

I just got home from the Mesa Show, another great show this year. A lot of interest in carving in this area, the line up for buying wood was almost out the door, by noon it was pretty well picked over. I hope they have more for tomorrow. The vendors were doing great, and the entries were unbelievable. This year I actually agreed with the judges decisions, I always get very discouraged going to a show though, I doubt my carvings will ever be good enough to be even entered, let alone win anything. Oh well somebody has to make the firewood.

I went to the show today. It was my first show. And as beginning carver, I just walked around with a sense of amazement at how talented some of these guys and gals are. I was also amazed at how many people were there. Seems half the valley are carvers. I came home really inspired to keep practicing.
