John - How wonderful .... a joyous time for you. I'll certainly add his name to my prayers of thanks to the Lord.
And Lynn - I'll be praying for your son.

John, Thank you for your post and the opportunity to respond. And, oh yea! Semper Fi Daniel; thank you for your service. John, your post included a reference to your wife, and how much she worried while Daniel was overseas. On this special day we set aside to honor our mothers, it occured to me that there are a lot of mothers whose sons and daughters are in harms way. To these mothers, a special prayer and thanks are due, and for some of us older fellows, maybe over due. John, I know that both you and Lynn are proud of your sons service; and rightfully so. They remain in my prayers.

Words fail me here, but I would like to say that I feel your happiness at having your son return safely. May the Lord bless you and your family.

Lynn, we will be praying for your son. Would you share his name with us.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, words of encouragement and thoughts. My thought is that we do not hear enough good about those who have or who are serving country. We can all disagree on exactly what that may mean, but to forget to say thanks to those who serve in spite of the politics of it all is not right. I will pass on all of your kind words.

John K Karver.

Glad to hear he's home safe. When ever we pass someone in uniform my son always asks if he can say hello. I always let him and make sure he follows up with a thank you for what they are doing for the country. I can imagine what your wife was going through. I can still remember the day I left to boot camp my mom was hysterical and that was during peace time.

That's a fine looking son and a credit to his family and his country. You are so fortunate to have him home and safe. Please thank him for being there when his country needs him. To serve ..... there is no higher purpose! Well done son!

And well done to all of the sons and daughters who serve, at home or abroad. May you also come home safe to your family.

Bob
