Default Making a carving into a kid's get well card!

We found out last night that my 5-year old grand daughter came down sick just as my daughter and her family were leaving for a Christmas trip to Atlanta. Needless to say, instead of getting to see the other grand parents my grand daughter's home sick in bed. So this morning I sat down and tried to think of something special in the way of a get well card that my wife and I could get in the mail to her the first thing tomorrow morning. And this is what we came up with. I've had a bunch of these bears carved, that Bob L (Just Carving) introduced to the forum back in March, just sitting around waiting for a purpose! It looks like I came up with one! It's a real easy project. I made the card with a 12-year old Microsoft Greetings Workshop program and then traced the outline of the bear on to the front cover. After cutting the outline out with an x-acto knife I attached the bear with double-sided tape. The only down side is that it takes extra postage but who cares...My grand daughter's worth every penny!

Brilliant Eddy! I bet she is thrilled with it. That's a really cool idea. I'll have to file that one away for possible future use. Thanks for sharing. Hope she is feeling better soon.

Cheers

WOW, Eddy! That's really great. What a clever and cute idea. Perhaps there's a new line of get well/greeting cards in the making. I'm sure that'll cheer her up.

Not only a good idea but it says a lot about granddad. Sick or not no one but no one has a get well card like that.
