| | I'm researching for a show on HGTV Hi guys,
I work for LMNO TV and HGTV, and I'm trying to find stories for our new show.
Basically, the man's home is his castle, yet he lives in a place with matching paint and carpet. Why, because man needs woman.
I'm trying to find a guy who has staked his claim in at least one room of the house. His "cave." A place where he gets to decorate, design, and dwell. Maybe he's done something extreme, awful, or horrible to a room that the wife hates, but the husband loves.
I post all over the place, cigar forums, sports forums, electronic forums, all in hopes of finding the story. I'm posting here hoping to find a guy with a workshop full of his woodcarving stuff. Maybe I have an unrealistic picture of what a woodcarver's workshop is, but I'm hoping to find drills, saws, stone walls, giant bears carved into trees. A room with real personality.
I know it's a long shot, but if anybody has any ideas or thoughts, let me know. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

| | Re: I'm researching for a show on HGTV In a world and a lifetime full of uncertainty, I am ABSOLUTELY SURE OF ONE THING!
If I ever had a room in this house where my wife was not allowed, there would be another room where I was not allowed!
Sorry, but I'll pass on this one.

Mitchell, I'm looking through the post you linked. I never know what I'll come up with. I have this idea of a cabin in the woods, with giant bear carvings and axes.
AlArchie, I'm married, I know what you mean. I can say that stories we've found so far like the guy who has a rock climbing wall in his den, and the giuy who has a home bar with a urinal installed are definitely places the wife is allowed, but probably a place where she doesn't want to go. |

| | Re: I'm researching for a show on HGTV Heard tell of a guy in Eastern Oklahomo where his shop is his castle and his wife goes there only to serve him bread and water. But that may be just a rumor! |

In all honesty, my hubby is the House Master...I'm may be tamed, but I'm not domesticated...I'm in charge of the yard (and ALL things mechanical), the snow and my STUDIO...

I'm still on the search for the ultimate "Man Cave." I might try the world of Chainsaw Carving, seeing as how I've got this idea of bears carved into tree stumps. Can you tell that I'm new to the carving world
By the way, browsing through the site, you guys do really amazing stuff. My hat is off to you all.
It makes me want to get a block of wood and some gouges and see what comes up |
