| | Last Picture. Well these are the last pictures I will be posting with the old camera.
Finally bought a digital SLR. Now all I have to do is figure out what all these darn buttons do. Battery has to charge overnight so I will have time to actually read the manual. Was heavy into photography back in the 70's and still shoot with my 35mm slrs sometimes so all the Numbers and settings make sense. Its just eveything else this things capable of. Stay tuned for better pics.

Congratulations Goody, that's a nice looking outfit. What are the lens'es? I'm like you, still use my old 35mm SLR for the odd shot, but digital is the way to go. I am looking serious at a new digital camera, the Kodak DX6490 is too limited. So let us know what you like/dislike about the new one.

| | Re: Last Picture. I found the button that makes it take a picture. Great to have control over the camera again. Havent played with depth of field in years.
Heres a pic of my buddy and one of a recently finished santa. Couple more days and I may figure out what some more of these buttons do.
Squbrigg,
Came with a 40-150 and a 18- 45 mm lens. The deciding factor for this over the Cannon was the dust reduction and the extra lens.

| | Re: Last Picture. Shhot a nice pic.....good focus ability. That's what I miss on my Kodak, ability to focus. Otherwise it 's a fine camera. I've heard that dust is a problem with the new digital SLRs when changing lens, your Olympis has a dust controller?

One thing I immediatly am noticing is the ability to be creative with this camera. With a Film camera you don't have immediate results of the shot. You need to get them developed and that can be days later. This thing has a 2 1/4" screen on the back that shows clear at any angle. You have Immediate results. Allows a lot of experimentation and you have the ability to reshoot the picture. There is also a mode that will shoot at a range of F/stops and or shutter speeds that you specify. Save the shot out of the range of pictures and you have some pretty cool pictures.
Gotta Go.
I have about six more buttons on this thing that I havent figured out yet!!!

I'm assuming this is why you posted the two pics side by side like that. |

| | Re: Last Picture. Hey Squbrigg,
Been working on this skipjack off and on for about a year. Someday I will finish it and the Pride Of Baltimore II kit I bought two years ago. I was looking for a subject to take a few shots of with the new camera and thought I would post the project. This was done from a set of Drawings A freind gave me frome a kit he built from Model Expo.
