Sam:
You don't have to save anything - that's one of the nice things about the forum, the messages are always here. If you look over on the left side of the screen, you'll see white letters saying Carving Community, and under that in red, Message Board. If you click on Message Board, in the middle of the screen in white letters on green background is Members and Magazines. Just above this is another green line that has User CP, FAQ, etc., on it. One of the options is New

s. If you click on New

s, only messages that are new since the last time you looked at the forum will appear. This makes it easy to see what's current. However, below the Members and Magazines section is one that says Wood Carving in white letters. Scroll down to that one, and you'll see each of the categories of the forum. Click on any one of them, and you'll see all the recent posts within that category. For example, click on General Wood Carving. The new window shows all the messages in the category General Wood Carving. The top three are "stickies" that don't go away. Below that are the latest messages. Scroll all the way down and you'll see a button that says New Thread - this you can click if you wish to start a new thread of your own in the category General Wood Carving. Just to the right of that button is a little box that says in white letters "Page 1 of 170", and then a little black 1. Notice the red 2, 3, 11, 51, etc. in red. If you click on the 2, you'll see the next 20 older messages. If you have the time, you can click on each page number down there and read all 3400 messages in the archives.
If you don't have that much time, look back up near the top where you saw the "New

s". Right next to it is Search with a little triangle. If you click on Search, a little window drops down and you can type in a keyword or a person's name, or a subject, or almost anything, click Go, and the forum will go find all the messages that contain what you typed in the box.
Also on that top green line is FAQ. This means Frequently Asked

s. Click on it, and then look through all the info that shows up. The forum moderators and editors have put a lot of helpful hints and how-to's in this to make it easier for people who aren't that familiar with computers and forums.
And if all else fails, ask us a question.
